I have really been stressing and struggling to make things happen and the news I got today that will be rewarded to the models I have here in Atlanta and the opportunity that a few particular ones have ..I feel like I have found what I was meant to do… I have helped these people become MORE than successful in following and achieving their dreams…I appreciate those that trust me, listen to me, take my advice and accept my guidance, those that have are finding themselves blessed beyond belief …. So many have doubted me and never took my advice and let their own insecurities keep them from succeeding …so many teachers doubted and questioned my purpose and now my hard work is beginning to show!! Look out for me and RoQ models,..!!!
According to a 2008 survey, the models in the New York Fashion Week were: 6% Black, 6% Asian, 1% Latina, 87% White.

Who’s Renee Thompson?
Renee Thompson is a 24 year old model trying to make it as a top fashion model in New York. She’s got the looks, the walk and the drive. She has been modeling for 10 years around the world and has experienced some degree of success but her dream is to hit the NY Fashion Week runway and become the next big thing. A dream that seems almost impossible at times as door after door gets slammed in her face, all because she’s black
Renee feels that she is constantly under scrutiny over something she can do nothing about. What’s even worse is the fact that clients expect the black models to be literally flawless– a higher standard than what is set for white models.(x)
I know this exact situation when I was modeling in high school.
I am a black photographer and I think everybody missed the point of this actual post.. He was not being racist or downing her. If you step out of our shoes and into a designers point of view and how you want your clothes to fit on a girl. Most designers want slim frame girls… NOT A SPECIFIC COLOR..BUT A SPECIFIC SHAPE! ..majority of black girls have a thicker shape than what’s proffered to fit the clothes and that SHAPE is more commonly found in white women,
